College to sponsor breakfast seminar on worker retention

Howard Community College will sponsor a free breakfast seminar for mid- to large-size companies, "Motivating and Retaining Employees," at 8 a.m. Oct. 14 in Dining Room A of the college's Science and Technology Building, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.

Betty Noble, a work/life coach and adjunct faculty member at the college, will be the presenter.

The event is part of the college's Business Leader Development and Networking Breakfast Series.

Disability awareness event set for today in Columbia

Jesse Wong's Hong Kong restaurant will be the host of the 13th annual celebration of dAp, the disAbility Awareness Program of the Howard County public school system from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the restaurant, 10125 Wincopin Circle in Columbia.

The gourmet Chinese buffet will include desserts, beverages, coffee and tea. Silent and live auctions, raffles and entertainment are planned.

Homeowners group plans legal seminar tomorrow

The Maryland Homeowners' Association will sponsor a seminar, "How to Keep You & Your Condo/Homeowners Association Out of Court," from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Central Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.
