Muehlhause, Carl O.

DR. CARL O. MUEHLHAUSE Ph.D, born September 17, 1918, died September 29, 2004, in Durham, NC, peacefully at home. Survived by his loving wife Carolyn; also survived by his daughter, son, grandson and great-grandson. Dr. Muehlhause was a highly honored scientist, having been awarded the Gold Medal for Science in 1968, and was again honored in September 2003, at what had been the National Bureau of Standards now known as the National Institute for Science and Technology. Dr. Muehlhause has lead a highly, respected team of scientists in the designing building and activation of what is considered today to be a long lasting and visionary nuclear research facility, visited by scientist around the world, and contributing to improvement for many aspects of life today. Served honorably in the Navy in WWII, but of all his many achievements his mother once said, "his Eagle Scout Award may have been the most meaningful to Carl" If you wish to honor him make a contribution to your charity of choice.
