October 03, 2004

The Harford County Commission on Disabilities will present Ticket to Work training from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in Meeting Rooms 1, 2 and 3 of the Bel Air branch of the Harford County Library, 100 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Another session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the County Administrative Office Building, 220 S. Main St.

The Ticket to Work program is a Social Security Administration employment and health care initiative for disabled people who want to work. More than 4,000 Harford County SSA beneficiaries with disabilities, between the ages of 18 through 64 who receive Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income have been issued program tickets. The commission recommends the training to ticket holders and their family members, employment service providers, job developers and others who provide services for the disabled.

Andrea Buonincontro, assistant director of Making Choices for Independent Living Inc. and director of MCIL's Benefits Resource Center, will conduct the training. To register for the free training, call Sharon Grzanka at 410-638-3373.
