ORIOLES: Announced minor league roving infield/base-running instructor Matt Martin will not be offered contract for next season. Announced Triple-A Ottawa manager Tim Leiper will not be offered contract for next season. Announced Single-A Aberdeen pitching coach Andre Rabouin will not be offered contract for next season.

CAVALIERS: Signed G Lucious Harris. Named Philip Averbuck director of international scouting.

GRIZZLIES: Signed C Pau Gasol to a multi-year contract extension.

HORNETS: Signed free-agent F Lee Nailon, who had been with Cavaliers, and G Junior Harrington.

Football

NFL: Fined Giants S Gibril Wilson, CB Terry Cousin and LB Barrett Green for illegal hits in Sept. 26 game. Wilson and Cousin were fined $7,500 each for helmet-to-helmet hits and Green was fined $5,000 for hitting Browns QB Jeff Garcia in the back with the crown of his helmet.

Soccer

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER: Disciplinary Committee announced that D.C. United D Ryan Nelsen has been fined $250 for his actions during Sept. 25 game after he was shown a second yellow card in a 1-0 road loss to Crew.
