Reported victim of hit-and-run dies of gunshot wound

An unidentified man was fatally shot early yesterday in Northwest Baltimore, police said.

The victim was found about 1:30 a.m. by police responding to the report of a hit-and-run accident in the 3000 block of Reisterstown Road, said Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman.

The man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where doctors discovered he had been shot in the back, police said. He was pronounced dead at 1:54 a.m. The victim, who is believed to be in his early 30s, has not been identified, Moses said.

Police had not made any arrests yesterday in the killing. Anyone with information is urged to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
