Constellation appoints Simon managing director

Constellation Energy Group Inc. appointed Julie Simon as managing director, national energy policy and regulatory affairs. In her new position she assists in regulatory affairs activity and represents the Baltimore-based utility company on national energy policy issues. Formerly a vice president for the Electric Power Supply Association, the University of California at Berkeley graduate holds a law degree from Golden Gate University.

Russo joins MetaMorphix as top financial official

MetaMorphix Inc. announced that Thomas P. Russo joined the Savage-based life sciences company as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Formerly chief financial officer of Chesapeake PERL, a small biotechnology company, he is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds a master's in business administration from George Washington University. Russo is active with the Maryland Hi-Tech Council and the Association of Biotech Financial Officers.

Cheek is human resources chief at McLean, Koehler

McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond named Barbara K. Cheek human resources manager for the Hunt Valley-based regional accounting and business consulting firm. She is responsible for day-to-day human resources support and assists management in development of its human resources strategy. The Towson University graduate lives in Glen Burnie and is active in several professional and community organizations, including the BWI-Linthicum Rotary and the Society for Human Resources Management.
