Week Three Recap

September 27, 2004|By Ken Murray

MOSS MAGIC REAPPEARS

A week after they ignored him in the red zone, the Vikings rediscovered the joy of Randy Moss. He did it all with seven catches, 119 yards and two TDs, both coming off short red zone passes.

INSULT ADDED TO INJURY

The Browns are riddled with injuries, but that doesn't account for how poorly QB Jeff Garcia has played so far.

SMALL CONSOLATION

Titans RB Chris Brown became the first player to rush for at least 100 yards vs. the Jaguars in their past 18 games.

NO FLASH IN THE PAN

Lions rookie WR Roy Williams (nine catches, two TDs yesterday) has 17 catches for 277 yards and four TDs.

ON SECOND THOUGHT ...

The Packers wanted to blitz the Colts' Peyton Manning, but paid dearly when he threw five first-half TD passes.

EAGLES' McNABB IS SOARING

The target of constant criticism a year ago, Eagles QB Donovan McNabb now is a front-runner for league MVP honors. In Philadelphia's three wins, he already has thrown for 931 yards and eight TDs.
