Man dies when he is struck by a train in Havre de Grace

An unidentified man was killed last night when he was struck by an Amtrak train in Havre de Grace, authorities said.

About 8:15 p.m., shortly before he was struck, the man was seen on the tracks near the Otsego Street underpass and Ontario Street, authorities reported. The victim, who they said may have been homeless, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train's direction and its destination were not immediately available. The incident is being investigated by Amtrak and Havre de Grace police.
