SafeNet Inc.

The Belcamp-based provider of technology for secure business communication over the Internet lost $1.59, or 5.7 percent, to $26.28 yesterday, a day after its Snowflake Acquisitions unit began a cash tender offer for Datakey Inc., which the latter's board has recommended to shareholders.


FedEx Corp.

The No. 2 U.S. package carrier, whose shares climbed to a record on Tuesday, shed $3.48, nearly 4 percent, to $85.21 after it said higher fuel prices prompted some customers to shift air shipments to lower-cost ground services. FedEx forecast full-year profit of as much as $4.60 a share, a penny shy of analysts' estimates.
