Road construction

September 19, 2004

The State Highway Administration is constructing a $2.3 million sound barrier along northbound interstate 95, near Elkridge. The 1 1/2-mile project will provide sound barriers for the Hunt Club Estates community, extending from 500 feet north of Route 100 to Montgomery Road.

A concrete barrier has been placed along the right shoulder of northbound I-95 to protect motorists and workers, and the right shoulder is closed to traffic for about 1/2 mile. The project is expected to be completed in the spring, weather permitting.
