On September 13, 2004, BARBARA V. CHRISTENSEN (nee Link); beloved wife of Ralph N. Christensen; loving mother of Richard and Martha Christensen, Nancy Pokorny, Carol Hooper and Karen Bragg; devoted grandmother of five and great-grandmother of six. Mrs. Christensen is also survived by her brother William James Link. Active and faithful in her church, she also served as a Girl Scout Leader, Supper Club volunteer for meals for the homeless, and treasurer for the Hoffman Home women's auxiliary. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, 12 noon in the Zion United Church of Christ, Silver Spring and Cottington Road. Interment private. Memorials in Mrs. Christensen's name may be made to the Hoffman Homes for Youth, P.O. Box 4777, Gettysburg, PA 17325. FREEMAN, SR. of Sykesville, devoted husband of Mrs. Norma Freeman, loving father of Kenneth Freeman, Jr. and his wife Robin, Stephen Freeman and his wife Lisa, cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Matthew, Christopher, Amanda and Misty. Relatives and friends are invited to call Loring Byers Funeral Directors, Inc., 8728 Liberty Road (2 miles west of beltway exit 18-B), on Thursday, September 16, 2004 and Friday, September 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Loudon Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll Street, Westminster, MD 21157.
