Ravens re-sign Morrow, release Sapp

The Ravens re-signed veteran special teams standout Harold Morrow yesterday and released second-year defensive back Gerome Sapp.

Morrow, 31, has recorded 140 career special teams tackles and should boost Baltimore's coverage teams, which struggled at times during a season-opening loss to Cleveland.

The 10-year veteran played with the Ravens last season after signing as a free agent, but he was released twice in a six-day period last week. His second release allowed offensive tackle Tony Pashos to be signed from the practice squad to replace injured All-Pro Jonathan Ogden. Ogden is expected to play in Sunday's home opener against Pittsburgh.

Sapp, a safety from Notre Dame, was a sixth-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2003. He appeared in 14 games last season and made 10 tackles.
