Police investigate fatal shooting of man outside liquor store
An unidentified man died yesterday of injuries suffered when he was shot outside an East Baltimore liquor store, police said.
Two men approached the victim about 10:25 p.m. Sunday as he left Robbie's Nest Bar in the 1900 block of N. Patterson Park Ave. and was about to get into a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu, said police spokesman Agent Donny Moses. The attackers fought with the man, chased him onto the sidewalk near East North Avenue and one of them shot him several times.
The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m., Moses said. Detectives have interviewed witnesses and have not ruled out robbery as a motive for the attack.
