Blue Jays update

The Blue Jays (59-84) have lost three straight games and are a season-high 25 under .500. Toronto and the Orioles have split 12 games this season, with the Blue Jays sweeping their AL East rivals in mid-August at Camden Yards. Justin Miller, tonight's starter, is 2-1 with a 6.08 ERA in three lifetime appearances against the Orioles; he's coming off the best start of his career, giving up two hits and a walk in eight innings Wednesday in a 1-0 win over Anaheim. Toronto first baseman Carlos Delgado has 17 homers and 46 RBIs in his past 45 games and 20 homers and 52 RBIs in 58 games since returning from the disabled list. Outfielder Alex Rios is making a late run for Rookie of the Year, as he leads first-year AL players in batting average (.289), multi-hit games (32), triples (six), stolen bases (10) and outfield assists (nine). - Jeff Zrebiec
