BETTY R. RODDY, 87, of York, PA, formerly of Bel Air, MD., died Saturday, September 11, 2004, after a 7 year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, at Manor Care South-York. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Roddy Sr. Mrs. Roddy was born on May 20, 1917, in Oil City, PA., the daughter of the late Edward and May (Ziegler) Ryan. Mrs. Roddy retired after 20 years of service as an Administrative Assistant in the Biomedicine Engineering Dept at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Roddy is survived by a son; T. Michael Roddy Jr., husband of Kay of York; four grandchildren; Beth, Anne, Tom and Colin; a great granddaughter Katie, and a brother Robert Ryan of Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S. George St., York. Officiating will be Rev. Robert M. Gillelan, Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S. George St., York Pa., 17403 or to the Alzheimer's Association, South Central PA. Chapter., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA., 17110. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.
