Two are charged in armed robbery

Two people have been charged in connection with the armed robbery Wednesday of a Hallmark store in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Police said a woman entered the store shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint.

The robber fled in a green van, which was spotted by police nearby. Officers chased the vehicle to the end of Ventnor Road, where it crashed into a concrete barrier, police said.

The driver, a man, was seen tossing something into Main Creek, police said.

Police said they charged Clinton Maurice Vanstory, 38, of the 900 block of Mayadon Court in the Brooklyn area of Baltimore, and Christa Renee Seman, 27, of the 7800 block of Willing Court in Pasadena, with theft of a sum under $500 and armed robbery.

Vanstory also was charged with fleeing from police and traffic counts, police said.

Drug investigation leads to 2 arrests

Anne Arundel County police ended a two-month drug investigation Wednesday with the arrest of two people in the Annapolis area, police said.

Police said they searched a townhouse in the 1500 block of Lodge Pole Court and found marijuana and cocaine valued at $800, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and two handguns.

Police said they charged the residents of the home, Rashi Jacques Reed, 25, and Clarence Andre Corley, 23, with several drug offenses each.
