Black & Decker Corp.Shares of the Towson toolmaker rose $2.43 to $74.31 yesterday, its fifth-straight gain. The shares have climbed 8.4 percent in the past week.


Parker Hannifin Corp.

The world's largest maker of motion-control equipment climbed $2.28, or 4.1 percent, to $57.68 yesterday, its biggest rally since Nov. 6. The company said orders at its North American industrial businesses rose 17 percent in August from a year ago. Orders for the rest of its global business climbed 20 percent.
