Hopkins opens with 34-17 win over Rochester

Johns Hopkins junior quarterback Zach DiIonno threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score to lead the Blue Jays to a 34-17 victory over Rochester yesterday at Homewood Field.

Anthony Triplin (Gilman) had a team-high seven receptions for 87 yards, while Adam Cook rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown.

Cook's game-high output improved his career total to 2,155 yards, which moved him past Paul Ferreri (1989-92) and into fourth place on the school's career rushing list.

The win is the fourth straight for Hopkins (1-0) over the Yellowjackets (0-1) since the series began in 2001.
