Joe Giusti intercepted a pass by Brandon Wakefield with 24 seconds left to seal McDaniel's 14-11 upset of Division III seventh-ranked Bridgewater in Westminster yesterday.

The win was McDaniel's first over the Eagles since 1999.

Bridgewater took possession with 2:19 left after a missed McDaniel field goal and drove to McDaniel's 7-yard line, converting two fourth downs along the way.

But on first-and-goal, Brett Rough pressured Wakefield into an errant pass that Giusti grabbed and returned 75 yards, sealing the win.

McDaniel quarterback Brad Baer (Westminster) finished 9-for-15 for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Salisbury 31, Catholic 14: Leroy Satchell had two first-half touchdown runs, helping the Sea Gulls (1-0) build a 24-6 lead on their way to a season-opening win over the host Cardinals.
