Suspended Cubs P Kent Mercker three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for inappropriate actions during an Aug. 27 game. Suspended Astros manager Phil Garner one game and P Dan Wheeler three games and fined them undisclosed amounts for Wheeler hitting Cubs 1B Derrek Lee with a pitch during an Aug. 29 game.
