Library branches offer book club discussions

NORTH POINT - Friends of the North Point Library will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 1716 Merritt Blvd., for "Let's Talk About Books." To prepare for the book club discussion, call 410-887-7255 or visit the library.

Similar discussion groups will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Reisterstown branch, 21 Cockeys Mill Road, and the Towson branch, 320 York Road.

The Reisterstown group will discuss Azar Nafisi's Reading Lolita in Tehran. Information: 410-887-1165. The Towson group will discuss Dai Sijie's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. Information: 410- 887-6166.

Villa Julie welcomes four to college admissions staff

STEVENSON - Villa Julie College has added four people to its admissions staff, college officials said.

Alexandra L. Velleggia has been named admissions communication coordinator. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Carrie Corns has joined the staff as an evening telecounseling supervisor. Corns is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Villa Julie's two new admissions counselors are Bryan Y. Fisher, a graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., and Sharise S. McGill, who holds a master's degree from Towson University, college officials said.
