Devil Rays update

Tampa Bay has lost three in a row to fall within a half game of fourth place, so this series gives the Orioles a chance to move up. The Devil Rays have dropped 13 of 18 and are 19-33 since they were two games above .500 on July 3. Carl Crawford, who leads the majors with 17 triples, didn't play Sunday because of a sore hip, but he's expected to return tonight. Rocco Baldelli (strained quadriceps) is ready to come off the DL tonight, but the Devil Rays probably will wait until rosters expand tomorrow. Hendrickson is on the verge of leaving the rotation after blowing a 5-1 lead Friday against Oakland, but he's still scheduled to make tomorrow's start. Brazelton gave up five runs in four innings Saturday, making him 0-10 lifetime on the road. Tampa Bay, which needs four more wins to match last year's total, is 56-54 against the Orioles. The teams have split 16 games this year.
