August 31, 2004|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

Police were seeking a man they described as a "person of interest" in the fatal shooting last night of another man in a house in Southwest Baltimore's Uplands neighborhood.

About 9:25 p.m., Southwestern District officers responding to a reported shooting in the 4400 block of Manorview Road entered the house and found the victim bleeding from a single gunshot wound to the lower back.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of family members, was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died a short time later, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to call Detective Corey Alston at 410-396-2100.
