On August 25, 2004, VIVIAN PAULINE RAYFORD WILKINS died from complications due to a stroke. Mrs. Wilkins was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. She attended public school in Roanoke. She graduated from Addison High School in 1941. Vivian relocated to Baltimore, MD in 1942 to begin working at Social Security Administration as a Key Punch Operator. After several years she resigned to attend West Virginia State College. When she returned to Baltimore, she worked at Fort Meade, MD as a supervisor. She later returned to Social Security Administration as a claims supervisor, the position she held until she retired in 1980. Vivian married Rudolph Wilkins, a Baltimore Police Lieutenant, who preceded her in death in 1974. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Williams; two brothers, Roosevelt Rayford, Sr. and Dr. Phillip Rayford. She is survived by one brother, Lewis Rayford, Sr., of Bowie, MD; one sister, Lorraine Callahan, of Baltimore, MD; five nieces, Sandra Downs, of Catonsville, MD, Peggy Dudley, of Charlotte, NC, Vivian, Virginia and Robin Rayford, of Washington, DC; three nephews lewis Rayford, Jr., of Brandywine, MD, Roosevelt Rayford, Jr. and Phillip Rayford, of Washington, DC; great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation at 2140 N. Fulton Avenue on Tuesday 2 to 7 P.M. The family will receive friends in the chapel on Wednesday at 12:30 P.M. Funeral at 1 P.M.
