75, an Alabama political activist and teacher whose 1979 vote-fraud conviction inspired protests by civil rights leaders, died of cancer Wednesday.
Ms. Bozeman and another activist, Julia Wilder, were convicted by all-white juries of casting absentee ballots for 39 elderly residents without their permission. A federal judge later threw out the case, saying their constitutional rights had been violated.
