Lines, delays expected at city impound lot

August 28, 2004|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The computer system at the city's Pulaski Highway Impound Lot will be temporarily shut down today, and officials are warning that they expect delays and long lines for motorists trying to retrieve their cars.

The city's Fallsway Impound Lot will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow to assist people whose cars are towed from downtown because of parking enforcement during tonight's Ravens preseason game.

The Pulaski lot's computer shutdown - necessary for fiber-optic work - will require all vehicle processing to be done manually. Department of Transportation workers recommended that people conduct necessary business at the lot on another day if possible.

The Pulaski lot, at 6700 Pulaski Highway, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays. The Fallsway Lot, at 410 Fallsway, is regularly open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekends and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
