August 27, 2004

Elizabeth E. Miller, a retired medical records administrator at Kernan Hospital, died of heart failure Monday at St. Joseph Medical Center. The longtime Towson resident was 75.

She was born Elizabeth Eastman in Baltimore, the daughter of Dr. Nicholas Eastman, a noted Johns Hopkins Hospital obstetrician and author of Expectant Motherhood.

She spent her early years in Beijing, where her father had a medical post. The family returned to Homeland, and she graduated in 1946 from Roland Park Country School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Goucher College in 1950.

In 1954, she married John Franklyn Miller, a Towson lawyer who died in 1982.

Mrs. Miller worked for about a decade in medical records at Kernan, retiring in 2001.

She was a member of Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church, where a memorial service was held yesterday.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Miller of Baltimore; a daughter, Jacqueline Miller of San Francisco; a brother, Thomas B. Eastman of Cedarcroft; and four nephews.
