OAKLAND, Calif. - The Baltimore Orioles optioned right-hander Eddy Rodriguez to Triple-A Ottawa before Wednesday night's game against Oakland to make room for right-hander Bruce Chen, who was recalled from the International League team.

Chen, who is with his eighth major league team, made his Baltimore debut. Rodriguez was 1-0 with a 5.01 ERA in 26 games for the Orioles this season.

The Orioles today also announced they have signed two-year contracts through 2006 with each of their four full-season minor league affiliates: AAA Ottawa, AA Bowie, Class A Frederick and Class A Delmarva.

"We are happy to continue our working relationships with each of our full season clubs," said Darrell "Doc" Rodgers, the Orioles' director of minor league operations. "We look forward to working with each of the ownership groups and outstanding front office staffs and keeping them as part of the Orioles' family."

The Orioles are currently in their second season with Ottawa as their Triple-A affiliate. Bowie has been affiliated with the Orioles since 1993 and Frederick has been with the organization since 1989. Delmarva has been an Orioles' affiliate since 1997, after being in the Montreal system for their inaugural year of 1996.
