Getting a grip on water

Hand-held showers and pullout kitchen faucet sprays are a delight. So functional and convenient. They're plumbing plums. And now, Price Pfister, maker of numerous plumbing fixtures and products, is introducing a pullout faucet for the bathroom sink.

The new Catalina Lavatory Pull-Out features a 55-inch hose concealed inside the faucet's aerator. The stylish chrome faucet can transform from a standard faucet into a flexible wand with just a tug. The faucet was designed to ease bathroom tasks such as cleaning up after shaving, washing hair, cleaning toothpaste residue or filling oversized containers. The weighted hose easily retracts, and the entire faucet can be mounted on any four-inch centerset sink.

The Catalina Lavatory Pull-Out retails for $175 at Lowe's. Visit www.pricepfister.com or call 800-Pfaucet for more locations or information.

Wanted: really bad lawns

There's always one. In every neighborhood, there's that one house with the neglected, cluttered and sometimes jungle-like lawn. With balding patches, knee-high weeds, wilted plants, tacky lawn ornaments and sometimes even an old clunker on cinderblocks, the hideous lawn stands out. It might possibly be the ugliest lawn in America. And Rubberific Mulch is looking for it.

The company, maker of recycled rubber mulch, is conducting a nationwide search for "The Ugliest Yard in America," now through Aug. 31. You may nominate a friend, family member, neighbor or, yes, yourself. Winner will receive a complete yard makeover.
