DAVID S. NESBITT, age 84 of Rising Sun, MD died on August 13, 2004. Mr. Nesbitt, a veteran of the US Navy, was an electrician at various industrial power plants on the East coast. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Mae Nesbitt. He is survived by two sons, David S. Nesbitt Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Lutherville, MD and Rodger S. Nesbitt of Owings Mills, MD; four grandchildren, Diana L. Bell, David S. Nesbitt III, Nicholas Nesbitt and Ashley Nesbitt; a brother and a sister. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday August 15, 2004 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Funeral: 11 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2004 at the funeral home. Evelyn was born on December 9, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her grandparents and her mother, Dorothy Oursler, raised her in Baltimore. She attended school and received a doctorate degree in early childhood education from the University of Maryland. She contributed immensely to the public school system in Baltimore, teaching underprivileged children all over the city and state. Evelyn was critical in the development of the nationwide Head Start and Follow Through programs for underprivileged children in the United States. After she relocated to Arizona in the early '70's, she spent many years with the University of Arizona developing current education programs in the Tucson and greater Arizona region. After retirement from the University of Arizona, Evelyn spent her later years working at Montgomery Ward's in Tucson. She came to live with Mark Dinsmore and his family for these late five years in the Old Pueblo. She enjoyed spending time with Mark and wife, Kris, and their son Adam who was born on December 28, 2003. Family and friends will be celebrating Evelyn's life at East Lawn Cemetery chapel on Monday, August 16 at 10 A.M. The chapel is located at 5801 E. Grant Road.
