Shakespeare outdoors

Romeo and Juliet will be portrayed as a pair of nonconformist teens, vexed by their conservative peer group, in Mobtown Players' al fresco production of the Shakespearean tragedy, opening tomorrow in Patterson Park.

The company's third annual show in the park is directed by Ryan Whinnem and stars Noah Mazaika, a senior at Towson University, and Courtney Ryan, a junior at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

The production also features an original electronic score composed and performed by Carlos Guillen.

"Romeo and Juliet" will be performed in Patterson Park's Bull Circle, between the fountain and casino, near the intersection of Baltimore Street and Patterson Park Avenue. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Aug. 15 and 26, and 2 p.m. Aug. 22. The show runs through Aug. 28. Tickets are $15. Call 410-467-3057 or visit
