Schwartz to serve in new psychiatric post at hospital

Dr. Joseph Schwartz has joined Howard County General Hospital as clinical director of psychiatric services, a newly created position.

He will be responsible for ensuring the quality of psychiatric services at the hospital.

The Psychiatric Department offers patients voluntary 24-hour acute-care psychiatric services by board-certified physicians and nurses trained in mental health.

Schwartz will retain his faculty appointment at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he serves as director of cognitive therapy education.

Notre Dame writer, editor to present marketing paper

Susie Breaux, senior writer and editor at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a resident of Ellicott City, has been invited to be a presenter at the American Marketing Association's Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education, Nov. 14 to 17, in San Diego.

She will join two colleagues from the college in presenting the paper, "How the Millennial Generation is Influencing Higher Education Marketing." The paper is based on focus group research conducted earlier this year at area public and private high schools.
