Miracle mascara

We've heard eyelashes described as full. And we've heard them described as thick. But we'd never before heard them described as "D cup" until Bourjois Pump Up the Volume came along.

Called the "push-up bra" of mascaras, Pump Up the Volume's silicone-infused formula gives volume to lashes, and the nylon fiber applicator brush helps lashes look thicker by distributing mascara right to the tips and separating them to prevent clumping. Other effective ingredients in the mascara include a mix of waxes and an alkaline polymer.

Bourjois Paris Pump Up the Volume mascara comes in five colors, including blue, khaki green and prune, and costs $13. It is available at www.sephora.com.

THE FLIRT PURSE

Lee Gorsky's handbags are fun and frolicsome, sophisticated and sexy.Whether crafted from pink tweed or black satin, embellished with a lavender silk ribbon or a fluff of feathers, the Potomac designer manages to add a touch of whimsy to her small, sophisticated handbags, no matter what material she chooses to use. Some of our favorite Lee G Designs include:

Tied-up: This black satin bracelet clutch is sleek and small and comes tied with your choice of silk ribbon (lavender, pink, pale yellow and pale blue) for a flirty addition to that little black dress. $80.

Diva: Pucci is so hot right now and Lee G's Pucci-inspired print in lilac or orange looks so hip on this medium-size clutch. Pop-out handle and vintage inspired rhinestone pin make this one a winner. $208.

Pinky: Tweed is so proper, so classic, so ... fun? This raw-silk pink tweed bag is girly and fun for weekends, serious enough with a suit. And it comes in two sizes -- small and medium. $143.

Lee G Designs handbags are available at www.leeg designs.com.

Sheer pleasure

Lining lips before applying lipstick insures color that lasts and won't bleed. But what's a girl to do when she's going sheer?

Clinique Sheer Shaper for Lips gives natural definition to lips without adding too much color. It glides on smoothly and helps lip color stay longer. The liner, which comes in six colors, contains a blend of waxes and emollients, including jojoba seed oil, paraffin and hydrogenated cottonseed oil.

For a look that's soft and natural, line lips, then fill in with sheer lipstick, lip gloss or lip balm.

Clinique Sheer Shaper for Lips costs $12.50 and is available at Clinique counters nationwide, including Hecht's, or at www.clinique.com.

What shape is your hair?

Those geometric hairstyles from the 1980s are back in a big way this season. Before you go out and get a fade or a Gumby, consider this: your regular styling product may not have what it takes to make your Pat Benatar 'do look totally boss.

Redken Shape Edge 14 Whipped Graphic Wax gives separation and definition to hair without leaving locks feeling weighed down and heavy. Apply to hands, rake it through damp hair and blow dry. In no time, you'll be looking totally hot, like totally.

Redken Shape Edge 14 costs $14.95 and is available at salons. To find one near you, go to www.redken.com.
