Virginia angler still leading chase for $1.3M

With two days of fishing remaining in the 31st White Marlin Open in Ocean City, Brett Jamison of Virginia Beach, Va., retained his lead in the chase for more than $1.3 million. Jamison hooked an 84-pound white on Monday in the tournament's most lucrative category.

Craig Williams, an angler from Hampstead, moved into second place yesterday by bringing home a 71.5-pounder. Williams stands to win approximately $90,000.

In the blue marlin category, Walter Johnson III of Medford, N.J., leads after catching a 640-pounder on Monday aboard the Anthracite. He stands to win about $360,000 and enjoys a narrow lead over Shawn Gentry of Todd, N.C., who hooked a 630-pound blue on the Jarrett Bay 58.
