Ciena Corp.

Shares of the Linthicum-based fiber-optics maker tumbled 68 cents, or 24.7 percent, to $2.08 yesterday, their all-time low, after the company said it expected third-quarter sales of $75 million, far below analysts' estimates of $95.4 million. Ciena's shares, which once traded about $150, are down nearly 68 percent from their 2004 high of $6.41 on Feb. 17.


Cigna Corp.

The insurer tumbled $1.98, or 3.2 percent, to $60.60, despite beating expectations by an impressive 50 cents per share. The company swung to a profit from a loss a year ago and boosted its earnings outlook as well.
