County fair schedule

The Carroll County 4-H/FFA Fair continues through Friday at the Carroll County Agriculture Center on Smith Avenue in Westminster.

Here is the schedule of activities for today and tomorrow. Fairgoers should be aware that programs can change without notice.


Sheep, Goat and Children's Day

8 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Indoor Exhibit Building open.

8 a.m.: Bicycle Rodeo at the Farm Museum.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Children's Day Activities in the Activity Tent.

9 a.m.: Sheep Fitting and Showing Contest; Dairy Goat Show in the Shipley Arena.

10 a.m.: Moo Beams on the Finch Stage.

9:30 a.m.: Entry and judging of Service Learning Exhibits.

11 a.m.: Small Engine/Lawn Tractor Contest in the Ag Center field.

2:30 p.m.: Moo Beams in the Activity Tent.

3 p.m.: Dairy Goat Team Fit and Show in the Shipley Arena.

4 p.m.: Clover Small Pet Show in the Activity Tent.

5 p.m.: Market Sheep Show in the Shipley Arena.

6 p.m.: Dedication of the Danele Shipley Memorial Arena with Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. expected to attend.

7 p.m.: Skid Steer Contest in the Horse Ring; Entertainment by Salem Bottom Boys in the Activity Tent.


Cake Auction, Swine and Western Horse Day and Horse Pull Day

8 a.m.: Western Horse Show in the Horse Ring.

9 a.m.: Market Swine Fit and Show and Pairs in the Shipley Arena.

9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Judging of Food Exhibits.

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: WTTR live interviews.

11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Preparation for Cake Auction.

2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Edible Art and Decorated Cake Show.

4 p.m.: Moo Beams in the Activity Tent.

4 p.m. to 10 p.m.: WQSR live broadcast.

5 p.m.: Market Swine Show in the Shipley Arena.

6:15 p.m.: Hall of Fame and Friends of Fair Awards in the Activity Tent.

6:30 p.m.: Bake Sale of items not in auction in Medford.

7 p.m.: Cake Auction in the Activity Tent; Horse Pull in the Horse Ring.
