Class to show trainers how to teach transit system use

Members of the Howard Transit Travel Training Program will offer a training class Aug. 24 for professionals who work with senior citizens or people with disabilities. Anyone interested in the county's public transit system is also welcome.

The class, which will prepare trainers to teach clients to navigate the Howard County transit system, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Tyson Room of the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City.

The deadline to register is Aug. 19. Space is limited. Information: Nancy Huggins, 301- 725-4000, Ext. 102.

Columbia firm donates tax books to county

The PCA Group, a Columbia-based accounting and consulting firm, has donated copies of Top Tax Savings Ideas: A Small Business Tax Survival Kit, by Thomas J. Stemmy, to all branches of the Howard County library system and to the Howard County Economic Development Authority's Business Resource Center.

PCA, which reviewed portions of the book, provides financial services to individuals, businesses, trade associations and other nonprofit organizations.

The company's divisions include Peacock, Condron, Anderson & Company PA, PCA Small Business Solutions, PCA/Ogle Financial Services LLC and Newport Acquisition Services LLC.
