Severn High School sophomore wins orations contest

Severn High School sophomore Christopher Hughes won the National Rumbaugh Historical Orations Contest and received a $3,000 prize in Pittsburgh.

Hughes received a certificate and medal from National President Raymond Musgrave at the National Sons of the American Revolution Congress, also held in Pittsburgh.

Severn High School has won the Maryland SAR Rumbaugh Historical Orations Contest for the past four years, and it has won twice at the national level in the past three years.
