Suspended Red Sox OF Gabe Kapler, Red Sox OF Trot Nixon and Yankees P Tanyon Sturtze three games and fined them undisclosed amounts for aggressive actions during incident. Fined Red Sox DH David Ortiz, Red Sox P Curt Schilling and Yankees OF Kenny Lofton for roles in incident.

ASTROS: Namd former Oriole Enos Cabell as consultant for baseball operations.

ATHLETICS: Released 1B Eric Karros.

BREWERS: Signed P Ben Stanczyk and assigned him to Single-A Helena.

INDIANS: Bought the contract of P Evan Thomas from Independent Camden Riversharks.
