Richard H. Norwood, 58, former Coca-Cola manager

Richard H. Norwood, a former Coca-Cola Co. account manager who had lived in Arbutus and Catonsville, died of prostate cancer July 21 at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 58.

Mr. Norwood was born in Baltimore and raised in Morrell Park. He was a 1963 graduate of Polytechnic Institute and was a member of the Navy Reserve during the 1960s.

Mr. Norwood had been employed as a Coca-Cola account manager in Baltimore from 1967 until 1993. After moving to Anchorage in 2001, he worked as an assistant manager for Alaska Industrial Hardware.

An accomplished woodworker, Mr. Norwood liked making furniture and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a former member of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Arbutus.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, the former Florence Etchison; a son, Steven S. Norwood, and a daughter, Kelly M. Cerutti, both of Girdwood, Alaska; his mother, Doris Williams of Pasadena; a sister, Patricia Brummett of Baltimore; and a grandson.
