GEORGE ALAN (AL) PINTO, 72, passed away on Sunday, July 25th 2004 at his residence in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. After leaving service in the U.S. Army, he was employed with Eastern Stainless Steel in Baltimore, Maryland for 18 years and operated his own businesses until he retired to Florida in 1984. He was well-known in Baltimore as, "Al, the Hot Dog Man of Charles Street". He joined the Loyal Order of Moose in 1972 and remained an active member for 32 years. Family members include his wife Betty Doxey Pinto; two sons, William Newbern III and Michael Gary Newbern; one daughter, Tricia Aileen Moreau; one brother, Frank Sevick; one niece, Linda Palechek; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Mabel Sevick and his father Thomas Pinto. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28th in the Chapel of Quinn Shalz with Reverend David Sheffield officiating. A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date in Waterlily, North Carolina at Twiford Funeral Home. He will be sorely missed by all his family and many friends.
