Two young men were killed early yesterday in separate incidents in West Baltimore and East Baltimore, police said.

In the first homicide, police responded about 1:15 a.m. to a shooting at a house in the 3800 block of Sequoia Ave. in West Baltimore.

Officers found Ronald Sheard, 29, on the first floor of his house. He had been shot several times in the upper body, Detective Robert L. Dohony said.

Sheard was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m., Dohony said.

In the second homicide, an unresponsive 22-year-old shooting victim was dropped from a "dark-colored vehicle" onto the sidewalk outside Johns Hopkins Hospital about 1:25 a.m., according to a police report. The victim was taken inside the hospital and pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m.

He was identified as Vincent Blackwell Jr. of the 6300 block of Leith Walk in Northwest Baltimore, police said.

A few minutes later, a hospital security officer found a black 9 mm handgun and bloody, white T-shirt near the hospital, the report states.

Anyone with information about either homicide is asked to call the Police Department's homicide division at 410-396- 2100.
