Unidentified man fatally shot in parked vehicle in city

Police were attempting to identify a man fatally shot yesterday afternoon while seated behind the steering wheel of a parked vehicle in East Baltimore.

Southeastern District officers responding to a 911 call reporting a gunshot fired in the 400 block of N. Rose St. about 2 p.m. found the victim - believed to be in his mid-20s and with no identification - seated in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee, dead from a single bullet wound to the left side of the head.

Police said the bullet was fired by an unknown person from outside the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the killing was urged to call Detectives Vernon Parker or Thomas Martin at 410-396-2100.
