Dorothy M. Husted, 92, homemaker and volunteer

Dorothy M. Husted, a homemaker and volunteer, died in her sleep Monday at Blakehurst Life Care Community in Towson. She was 92.

Dorothy McCormick was born and raised in Williamsport, Pa. She attended Oldfields School and was a 1930 graduate of Madeira School in McLean, Va.

She was married in 1937 to Stephen Campbell Husted. Her husband, the retired head of East Coast sales for Bethlehem Steel Corp., died in 1994.

For many years, Mrs. Husted lived in Cross Keys. She moved to the Towson retirement community with her husband in 1992.

A member of the Junior League of Baltimore, she volunteered for more than 20 years at the Union Memorial Hospital canteen. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Guilford.

She was a member of the Baltimore Country Club and enjoyed playing golf years ago at its Five Farms course in Mays Chapel.

A memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blakehurst, 1055 W. Joppa Road.

Mrs. Husted is survived by two daughters, Gail H. Ehrhardt of Ruxton and Carole H. Bade of Parkton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
