On July 18, 2004, ELMER C. RIGBY, 86, of Towson, MD. Born in Baltimore to the late Elmer D. and Mary D Hungerford Rigby. Survived by first cousin Helen Bier Hungerford Sachs and her husband Charles L.; second cousins Nancy Lee Dlugokeski, Charles R. Sachs, Kathryn Frederick and their children. WW II Veteran served in Europe as a Captain of the Army's 326th Infantry Division, where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals for heroic actions. Member of VFW Post 8296 of Ocean City, MD, Maryland National Guard and Elk's Towson Lodge #469; owner of the Taylor House Restaurant in Loch Raven Village. He was a football star and graduate of Forest Park High and the University of Maryland. A Funeral Service will be held at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26A), on Thursday at 10 A.M. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
