Grace Louise Rice, 96, Social Security employee

Grace Louise Rice, a retired Social Security Administration employee, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Wednesday at the Quincy United Methodist Home in Quincy, Pa. The former Northwood resident was 96.

Grace Louise Funk was born in Beaver Creek in Washington County and earned a degree from what is now Frostburg State University.

She moved to Baltimore many years ago and worked at the Social Security Administration for more than three decades. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Towson.

Her husband, Russell B. Rice, died in 1961.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bryson Room in the Quincy Home's Colestock Building.

Survivors include two nephews, Donald L. Funk of Hagerstown and Larry L. Funk of Beaver Creek; a niece, K. Sue Wright of Hagerstown; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
