GRACE LOUISE (WEESIE) RICE, 96, formerly of 519 Goucher Boulevard, Towson, Maryland, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Quincy United Methodist Home in Quincy, Pennsylvania where she was a resident. Born May 31, 1908 in Beaver Creek, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Laura Manges Burger Funk. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell B. Rice on December 29, 1961. She graduated from Frostburg University. She was retired from the Social Security Administration in Baltimore after more than thirty years of employment. She was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Towson, Maryland. She is survived by one niece K. Sue Wright and her husband Gary of Hagerstown; two nephews Donald L. Funk and his wife Delores of Hagerstown and Larry L. Funk and wife Susie of Beaver Creek, Maryland; sister-in-law Helen S. Funk of Beaver Creek, Maryland; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many cousins and friends, many from Quincy, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by three brothers Clifford E. Funk, Merle R. Funk and Harold J. (Jake) Funk. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 22, 2004 at the Quincy United Methodist Home, Colestock Building, Bryson Room, Quincy, Pennsylvania. Rev. John Ile will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro, Maryland. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ascension Lutheran Church, 7601 York Road, Towson, Maryland or the Quincy United Methodist Home Benevolent Fund, 6596 Orphanage Road, Quincy, Pennsylvania. Arrangements by the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland.
