Jessup singer-songwriter to be featured at Artscape

Jessup singer-songwriter Georgie Jessup Mauler -- also an employee of the Anne Arundel County school system -- is scheduled to perform at Artscape in Baltimore, on the Baltimore Songwriters Association stage near Meyerhoff Symphony Hall at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. She will be accompanied by Justin Crown on bass guitar.

Jessup's compact disc American Holocaust has been nominated for an Indian Summer Music Award in the Native Spirit (non-Indian) category.

Indian Summer awards -- being presented in 13 categories -- were instituted to honor the best Native American music commercially released in the two years that ended March 1. They will be presented Sept. 11 during the Indian Summer Festival in Milwaukee, one of North America's largest Native American festivals.

Indian Summer Music Awards is a non-membership organization that promotes Native American music by established and emerging artists using the resources of the festival.
