Devil Rays update

Four straight losses to end the first half dropped the Devil Rays three games below .500, but they remain in third place in the American League East. They've lost seven of 10, and the offense accepts much of the blame. Tampa Bay has scored four runs or fewer in 11 of its past 14 games. But the Devil Rays put together the best first-half record in franchise history at 42-45 and went 31-16 after May 19. Rob Bell was scratched from Sunday's start, with Halama being held back a day to take his place. These teams split a four-game series at Camden Yards last week, with the Orioles sweeping a doubleheader before losing the next two nights. Hendrickson tossed eight scoreless innings in a 3-1 win. The Devil Rays took two of three April 9-11 at Tropicana Field.
