A 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy have been charged with first-degree murder in the beating of a Dundalk man who died this week after five months in the hospital, police said yesterday.

Baltimore County police said their investigation showed that the woman had paid the boy $20 to beat her boyfriend.

Sara Marie Glover of White Marsh and Kevin Lamont Martin of Dundalk were charged at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, where they have been held since the severe beating of Glover's boyfriend, Joseph Thomas Salisbury, in February, police said.

Since the attack, Salisbury, 21, was hospitalized at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center & Hospital in Baltimore, where he died Monday of complications from the beating, police said.

A police spokesman would not describe the motive for the beating.

"Obviously, she was angry, but we are not going into details," the spokesman, Bill Toohey, said.

On Feb. 11, police said, Glover and Martin went to Salisbury's apartment in the 1600 block of Four Georges Court in the Holabird East Apartments. When Salisbury opened the door, Martin entered the apartment and severely beat and repeatedly kicked Salisbury, police said.

Martin lived in the same apartment complex.

Homicide detectives arrested Glover and Martin the next day and charged them with attempted murder.
